Serverless Application Developer (Java) – Contract

Job Overview: We’re hiring an experienced AWS Serverless Application Developer with strong Java skills to join our team. In this remote contract role, you will design, build, and deploy high-performing serverless applications using AWS technologies like Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy serverless applications using AWS services, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
• Implement backend logic and APIs using Java for scalable and reliable serverless applications.
• Create and manage workflows using AWS Step Functions, SNS, and SQS.
• Write Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates with AWS CloudFormation or Terraform for automated deployments.
• Optimize applications for performance and cost within a serverless architecture.
• Implement security best practices, focusing on IAM, encryption, and secure data handling.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment and monitoring of serverless applications.
• Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams to deliver robust solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in backend development with Java and object-oriented programming.
• Proven experience building and deploying serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and RESTful API design.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Strong understanding of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and cloud security best practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions for serverless deployments.
• Problem-solving skills, with experience in optimizing serverless functions for performance and cost.
